Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season
To: Health Center Faculty and Staff
From: Peter J. Deckers, M.D.
My friends! As we begin, what is for most, a very exciting, indeed wonderful, time of the year, my thoughts are those of sincere thanks and gratitude for all that each and every one of you do throughout the year in your own unique, special and very meaningful way. Every day, at UCHC, so many in our family go beyond what is required and share special personal gifts and talents in service to others. Your individual and collective generosity of spirit, time, talent and resources strengthens us, is an example to many others and has enabled UCHC to overcome much adversity and be a much better community as a result of it.
Each of us should be very thankful for the many gifts and blessings bestowed on us. We must also remember, at this very special time of Thanksgiving, those throughout this country and the world who have suffered much this past year from natural disasters and from the tragic inability of so many to understand the goodness and strength associated with diverse cultures, races and faiths when they are enthusiastically and respectfully integrated transparently into the whole of society.
May this Thanksgiving and Holiday Season be one of special joy for each of you and for your friends and family! Be peaceful!
