Save the Date: 2nd Annual White Coat Gala
Celebrating Generations of Caring
Though it’s cold and snowy outside, spring is right around the corner – and so is the 2nd annual White Coat Gala to benefit the UConn Health Center on Saturday, April 16.
In fact, I’m delighted to say that ticket sales are off to a brisk start with nearly 600 tickets already sold. So, don’t wait until the last minute to get your tickets – at this rate, the event could sell out!
There are many good reasons to considering attending this year. We will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the UConn Health Center and honoring three remarkable individuals whose careers have helped to shape the story – and the success – of our institution.
The honorees are: Dr. Marja Hurley, Associate Dean and Director of the Health Career Opportunity Programs and Interim Senior Associate Dean for Education; Dr. Ravi Nanda, Professor and Head, Department of Craniofacial Sciences and Chairman of the Division of Orthodontics; and Jim Calhoun, Head Coach of the UConn Men’s Basketball program and a philanthropic champion.
It will be a very special evening for the Health Center community. The gala will be held at the Connecticut Convention Center, starting at 7 p.m. and will feature a silent auction during the cocktail hour, dinner, a live auction and dancing. Auction items include elegant dinners, vacation packages and much more.
On behalf of the entire UConn Health Center, I’d like to extend my deepest thanks to the many volunteers who are working with the Foundation on this wonderful event and to our title sponsors, Richard and Jane Lublin. All money raised will help support the work of clinician-scientists throughout the UConn Health Center.
