Senior Associate Dean for Education Appointment
I am very pleased to name Dr. Suzanne Rose as the new Senior Associate Dean for Education at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Her appointment follows a national search and she will assume her position here in July. Dr. Rose currently serves as an Associate Dean for Medical Education at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
Throughout her career, Dr. Rose has received numerous teaching awards and last year was selected as a Charter Master Educator in the Institute for Medical Education at Mount Sinai. Dr. Rose, an accomplished gastroenterologist, is a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Rose received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed a residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Cleveland Clinic Hospital.
Dr. Rose will succeed Dr. Marja Hurley, the Associate Dean and Director of the Health Career Opportunity Programs, who has provided excellent leadership as Interim Senior Associate Dean for Education.
Please join me in welcoming Dr. Rose to the UConn Health Center community!
Sincerely,
Cato T. Laurencin, M.D., Ph.D.
Vice President for Health Affairs
