New Chairman of the Department of Immunology
I am pleased to announce that Leo Lefrançois, Ph.D., professor of immunology and director of both the Center for Integrated Immunology and Vaccine Research and the Flow Cytometry Facility, has been named Chair of the Department of Immunology, following an extensive search.
Dr. Lefrançois joined the UConn Health Center in 1991 and leads a research team that is focused on understanding the immune response against microbial infections. Dr. Lefrançois completed his graduate training at Wake Forest University and is widely published in scholarly journals. Among other accolades, he was recently elected as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Please join me in extending congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Lefrançois.
