2nd Annual White Coat Gala: A Winning Night!

Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of individuals, including many of our faculty and staff, the second annual White Coat Gala, held on Saturday evening at the Convention Center, was a tremendous success. Though the tally is still being finalized, it is safe to say the gala was one of our top fund raising events on record! Funds raised will support faculty and researchers in areas across the entire UConn Health Center.

As you know, the theme of this year’s gala was “Celebrating Generations of Caring.” It was a chance to pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of the UConn Health Center and to honor three remarkable individuals who have played integral roles in the success of the UConn Health Center’s first half century: Dr. Marja Hurley, Dr. Ravi Nanda and Coach of the NCAA Men’s Championship team, Jim Calhoun. All three have given their time and talent to help shape successful programs within the UConn Health Center and their work has inspired all of us.

I am deeply grateful to Richard and Jane Lublin, Title Sponsors of the gala, as well as all of our sponsors, our volunteer committee and everyone who supported the event. I look forward to sharing news in the months ahead about how the proceeds will support the UConn Health Center’s mission.
