Integrated Academic Medical Center Is Critical for Continued Success
Please follow the attached link to read an opinion piece from yesterday's Hartford Courant about the vital interconnectedness among all three pillars of our academic medical center: education, research and clinical care. I wrote the op-ed in reaction to recent remarks made by Hartford's Mayor Pedro Segarra about relocating the schools of medicine and dentistry. As you will see, we feel very strongly about the importance of keeping all elements of our academic medical center on one campus; we are deeply committed to the City of Hartford; and we remain focused on advancing the plan approved by Connecticut's General Assembly last year to ensure a healthy future for the UConn Health Center, Hartford and the entire region.
