UConn: It begins with You!

The Health Center’s commitment to exceptional service and patient care is moving forward as a part of the UConn Health 2020 Strategic Refresh.

One new initiative, “UConn: It begins with You,” will be introduced this fall to ensure exemplary customer service, with support from the Studer® Group.

UConn: It begins with You,” builds on past and current clinical improvement projects. We hope you will participate in focus groups and forums. We thank all of you in advance for your contributions and also thank those involved in previous customer service workshops. The success of this initiative truly depends on you.

As another part of our effort to maintain the highest quality for our patients, the Health Center is participating with the Connecticut Hospital Association in a collaborative, statewide initiative to eliminate all-cause preventable harm to patients using high reliability science to create a culture of safety. The premise of this effort is that safety is a science, and ultra-high levels of safety can be achieved by employing high reliability principles. Hospitals that have enacted such principles have reduced serious safety events and improved safety by 60 percent or more.

Every patient, whether they are here for a blood draw or major surgery, deserves nothing short of excellence. Our task now is to make sure every one of you has the tools and support you need to deliver excellence, every day.
