Center for Advanced Reproductive Services

The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services (CARS), a full service fertility program, is a clinical and educational collaboration between the UConn Health Center and a subsidiary of Women’s Health USA. Through a lease and management agreement, CARS rents space in the Dowling South Medical Office Building, and they contract for Health Center employee services. As part of the Bioscience CT initiative, Dowling South is scheduled for demolition in early 2015. Many of the outpatient services in that building will be relocated to the new Outpatient Pavilion. However, due to multiple financial challenges, including those associated with the move, CARS has notified the Health Center that they will not be relocating to the new Outpatient Pavilion. The lease and management agreement between us will end in January 2015. The School of Medicine’s educational mission, including the fellowship program in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, will not be impacted by this decision.

The Health Center recognizes the valuable role our employees have played in this nationally-recognized program. We will be working through the impact of this change over the coming months, while respecting the terms of all collective bargaining agreements.
