The University of Connecticut Health Center provides a two-year training program in clinical endocrinology.  The program is based at the University of Connecticut Health Center (UCHC) and includes clinical rotations at John Dempsey Hospital (JDH), Hartford Hospital (HH) which includes Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC), St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center (SFH) and The Hospital of Central Connecticut (THOCC).  Rotations are divided between the four hospitals; 8-months each is spent at UCHC (JDH and clinics) and 4-6 months are spent at SFH, HH and THOCC over the 2-year fellowship.  Fellows training in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Connecticut Health Center see a diverse patient mix at these four hospitals.   The program fulfills the requirement for subspecialty certification in endocrinology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  The program is designed to provide training for those interested in a career in academic endocrinology, as well as for those interested in pursuing a career in clinical endocrinology.
