Dr. Trojian graduated from the
University of Pennsylvania in 1987 with a bachelors degree in biochemistry.
He received a master of medical biochemistry from Hahnemann University
in 1989 (MCP-Hahnemann). In 1993, he received his medical degree from
Howard University in Washington, D.C. and was elected to Alpha Omega
Alpha the same year. Dr. Trojian graduated from the Highland Hospital/University
of Rochester Family Practice Residency Program in 1996. He stayed at
the program to do a fourth year as Chief Resident. Dr. Trojian joined
the staff at University of Connecticut/Saint Francis Hospital and Medical
Center as Assistant Professor in 1998 after completing a Sports Medicine
fellowship at UPMC-Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Part of his current
duties involve the care of the athletes at the University of Connecticut.
His education goals are to teach residents and students the importance
of musculoskeletal medicine in primary care ant to conduct primary care
sports medicine research. He currently directs the sports medicine and
faculty development fellowships. His outside interests include basketball,
snowboarding and family (Laura and son Nathaniel).

Dr. Heiman graduated from Case
Western Reserve University in Cleveland in 1994 with a B.S. in Management,
summa cum laude. She received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve
University in 1998 and was elected to AOA the same year. She graduated
from the University of Virginia Family Medicine Residency Program in 2001. Dr. Heiman graduated from the Sports Medicine Fellowship program at the University
of Michigan in 2002. Dr, Heiman was on faculty as a lecturer at the
University of Michigan for 1 year prior to joining the department in
2003. Her clinical interests include prevention and sports medicine.
She and her husband enjoy traveling,
photography and gourmet cooking.
