Because our program is based primarily at Hartford Hospital and the University of Connecticut Health Center, training occurs in both a large, urban hospital with a national reputation for clinical excellence and a smaller, academic health center that excels in teaching and research as well as clinical care. At each of these institutions, training is directed by a faculty of committed teacher-clinicians that includes both general and subspecialty neurologists. Since both private practitioners and academic neurologists participate, the outlook is broad. Clinicians in both academic and private practice are closely involved with the education of residents and there are opportunities to experience many specialized aspects of the practice of neurology. Resident teaching comes first in an atmosphere of modern, comprehensive and compassionate patient care from both the specialized staff and general neurologists. The University of Connecticut’s Neurology Residency Program is small, flexible, user-friendly, and oriented to producing well-trained clinical neurologists and will provide you with the opportunity for professional growth and personal gratification. We appreciate your interest in us and we look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Avinash Prasad M.D. |
