Celebrate Aging to Present Program on Preventing Falls
Farmington, Conn. – Celebrate Aging, a new initiative of the UConn Health Center designed to promote successful aging, is offering an informative program on ways to prevent falls on
Thursday, December 2.
Barbara Boucher, P.T., director of rehabilitation services at the UConn Health Center and a member of the Connecticut Collaboration on Fall Prevention, will teach participants how to
protect themselves against falls through gait and balance self assessments. Falls are the leading cause of unintentional injury among older adults in Connecticut.
Ms. Boucher’s presentation will run from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Onyiuke Dining Room (use main hospital entrance.) To register, call Celebrate Aging at 860-679-4900 or 866-837-7737. To

In addition, Celebrate Aging will co-sponsor an “Intergenerational Afternoon of Holiday Fun” with the Farmington Senior Center. The event will be held on Wednesday, December 29, from 1:30
to 4 p.m. at the Farmington Senior Center on 321 New Britain Avenue in Unionville, and will include bingo, cookie and ornament decorating, and time to share holiday memories with Santa and
friends. Refreshments will be served. The snow date is December 30. To register, call 860-675-2390.
