Visual and Performance Art by UConn Health Center Community January 27
FARMINGTON, Conn. – Scientists, nurses, librarians, physicians, accountants and others at the UConn Health Center will show off what they do in their off-hours at a special exhibition Thursday,
January 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Food Court at the Health Center. Performance art is from 10 to 1:15.
“We have wonderful blend of visual and performance arts,” said co-organizer Sandy Kressner, Education and Development Specialist at UConn Health Center. “It’s a diverse and rich example of what our
employees do outside the workplace.”
“Art: An Expression of Diversity” will feature the talents of about 30 members of the Health Center community who will exhibit their works, including sculpture, paintings, photography, and other
visual arts. Performance artists include songwriters, vocalists, guitarists and a jazz/blues band. “Our performance artists include a scientist, a facilities worker, and medical students,” said
Kressner. “Their talents are amazing.”
The exhibit is sponsored by the UConn Health Center Diversity Advisory Committee and UConnCares Council. Artists reside throughout the Greater Hartford area.
