Chase Family Gift Supports Vital Research at UConn Health Center
FARMINGTON, CONN. – Research into new cures and treatments for widespread diseases affecting bones and joints, such as osteoporosis and arthritis, was bolstered recently by a $1million gift
from the Chase family of West Hartford to the University of Connecticut Health Center.
The family’s gift will provide endowment support for critical musculoskeletal research at the UConn Health Center. In honor of the family’s generosity, the Health Center recently dedicated
the Chase Family Skeletal Biology Research Laboratories and the Chase Family Research Floor at the new Medical Arts and Research Building on the Health Center’s Farmington
campus.
“As a family, the UConn Health Center has always played an important role in our lives. When the Health Center first came to Farmington, we were very pleased that medical research would be
conducted here and that our medical needs would be met locally. We have supported the Health Center since our first grandchild was born here,” said Rhoda Chase.
“The establishment of the laboratories and floor ratifies our belief in the Health Center,” she added.
The Health Center welcomes further gifts to the Chase family endowment. For more information, please call 860-679-1122.
