Clinical Career Day at UConn Health Center
More Than 200 High School Students to Attend
FARMINGTON, CONN. – More than 200 high school students from 16 area
schools will be attending Clinical Career Day at the University of
Connecticut Health Center on Friday, March 24, from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. Workforce shortages in the health care industry are reaching
crisis levels. This event will provide students with valuable
information aimed at sparking their interest in pursuing a career in the
health professions.
Students will have the opportunity to listen and ask questions during
a panel discussion featuring representatives from a variety of health
fields. A “career fair” will also be held where the students can visit
various informational booths, such as dental medicine, nursing and
pharmacy, and learn more about the opportunities available to them.
The event is sponsored by the UConn Health Centers’ Human Resources
Department, Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and Celebrate Health
Program.
The University of Connecticut Health Center includes the schools of
medicine and dental medicine, John Dempsey Hospital, the UConn Medical
Group and University Dentists. Founded in 1961, the Health Center
pursues a mission of providing outstanding health care education in an
environment of exemplary patient care, research and public service. To
