Illustrator Turns to Fine Art and Watercolor

About the artist:
In recent years, illustrator Mike Eagle has turned his attention
to the fine arts. He has exhibited at the Connecticut Artists Exhibit
and the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts Annual Exhibit and created
murals for the Mystic Seaport, Nautilus submarine, and Connecticut River
museums. He is a member of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the
Graphic Artists Guild, and the American Watercolor Society.
During his career as an illustrator, Eagle has illustrated numerous
books, magazines and advertisements. His clients included such
well-known organizations as Golden Books, Random House, Sports
Illustrated, General Electric, HBO/Cinemax, and Ragu, among many others.
His works have been exhibited at the American Museum of Illustration in
New York, the Cricket Art Exhibition in Chicago, the Dallas Public
Library, and the International Children’s Book Fair in Bologna, Italy.
Most recently his work was included in the “Art of the Story Board,” a
Society of Illustrators exhibit, and his drawing “Out of the Storm” was
selected to be part of a national traveling exhibit featuring art
depicting 9/11. Wood is a long-standing member of the Society of
Illustrators.
He has taught art and illustration classes at the University of
Connecticut, the University of New Haven and the Paier College of Art,
Hamden, and is currently an adjunct professor in fine arts at Quinnipiac
University, Hamden. A native of Middletown, Eagle graduated with honors
from the Hartford Art School/University of Hartford, Bloomfield. Early
in his career he was a staff illustrator at Aetna Life and Casualty in
Hartford.
