General Surgeon Joins UConn Health Center
FARMINGTON, CONN. – Yuri Novitsky, M.D., a general surgeon with
extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgery, is now seeing
patients at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington.
His areas of special interest are minimally invasive treatments for
hernia repair and the surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux
disease (GERD).
Dr. Novitsky joins the Department of Surgery from Carolinas Medical
Center in Charlotte where he completed fellowships in research and
clinical aspects of minimally invasive surgery. He received his medical
degree from Albany Medical College in New York and completed residencies
in general surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and the
University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. At UMass
Medical Center, he also completed a research fellowship in minimally
invasive surgery.
Dr. Novitsky is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He’s been
recognized with many academic accolades throughout his career and is a
member of several professional societies. He’s published extensively in
medical journals and other professional publications.
