2007 Spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act Celebration
Transportation Advocates Will Be Honored
FARMINGTON, CONN. – The Connecticut Developmental Disabilities Network will host its Third Annual Spirit of the ADA Celebration on Thursday, July 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. in room 1D of the
Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford.
To commemorate the 17th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, advocates who have gone above and beyond to promote access to public transportation for people
with disabilities will be honored. The agenda will also include an update from the Connecticut Department of Transportation on coordination initiatives in the state, a response from
members of the disability community, and information on model programs from around the country.
The Developmental Disabilities Network is a partnership of the Council on Developmental Disabilities, the Office of Protection & Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities, and the
University of Connecticut Center on Developmental Disabilities at the UConn Health Center.
