Thanksgiving Gift of Shoes for the Homeless
Health Center Staff Pitching in at Salvation
Army in New Britain
NEW BRITAIN, CONN. – During Thanksgiving week, more than 2,500
pairs of new shoes will be distributed at homeless shelters in 25
cities throughout the country. Volunteers will help with sizing, and
health care professionals will offer free foot screenings. The
events were organized by
Our Hearts to Your Soles, a nonprofit with a mission of
providing medical care and shoes to people in need worldwide and
Soles4Soles, a nonprofit
that facilitates the donation of footwear.
Who: Orthopedic foot surgeon
Michael
Aronow, M.D., physician’s assistant Cynthia Kilbourne, medical
assistant Lori Aenengrro, and cast technician Kathleen York from the
New England Musculoskeletal Institute at the University of
Connecticut Health Center, as well as Newington retailer Footprints,
which is donating the shoes for this event.
When: Monday, Nov. 19, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: The Salvation Army, 78 Franklin Square, New
Britain.
