Mark Bertolini Joins Health Center Board of
Directors
FARMINGTON, CONN. – The University of Connecticut Health
Center has appointed Mark T. Bertolini, president of Aetna Inc. (NYSE:AET),
to its Board of Directors. The appointment is effective immediately.
“Now more than ever, there are incredible opportunities for
health care professionals, hospitals, health sciences universities
and health insurers to work together, learn from each other and
together improve health care in America,” Mr. Bertolini said. “I
look forward to working with the rest of the board and the health
center leadership in their mission of providing outstanding health
care education in an environment of exemplary patient care, research
and public service.”
As president of Aetna, Bertolini is responsible for all
businesses and service operations across its broad range of health
care products. Bertolini has held various positions in the company
since joining Aetna in 2003. Prior to becoming president, he served
as Executive Vice President and head of Aetna Business Operations.
Bertolini came to Aetna from Cigna HealthCare, where he served in
several Senior Vice President positions.
Mr. Bertolini holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration from Wayne State University and a Master of Business
Administration in Finance from Cornell University.
