Dr. Patrick Senatus Joins the UConn Health Center’s New England Musculoskeletal Institute

Neurosurgeon with Expertise Treating Movement Disorders as well as Neck and Back Pain

FARMINGTON, CONN. – Patrick B. Senatus, M.D., Ph.D., a neurosurgeon with expertise in today’s newest technologies to treat movement disorders as well as acute and chronic neck and back pain, is now seeing patients at the University of Connecticut Health Center.

At the UConn Health Center, Dr. Senatus is part of the New England Musculoskeletal Institute and is working closely with Hilary Onyiuke, M.D., director of its comprehensive spine program.

“We have many technologically advanced approaches to help people with movement disorders or chronic pain,” Dr. Senatus said. He offers treatments such as medication infusions; deep brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation; and precise, computer-assisted surgical navigation systems.

Dr. Senatus joins the UConn Health Center from the Cleveland Clinic where he completed a fellowship in functional and restorative neurosurgery.

He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. In addition, Dr. Senatus earned a doctorate degree in neurobiology from Harvard University. He did his residency training in neurological surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University Medical Center.

Throughout his academic and clinical training, Dr. Senatus earned many awards and honors including the National Medical Association Merit Award, the American Federation for Clinical Research Medical Student Award and the Association for Academic Surgery Award.

“Dr. Senatus brings the very best skills and technologies to the New England Musculoskeletal Institute and our comprehensive spine program, which includes both surgical and non-surgical modalities to help men and women alleviate neck and back pain and maintain overall health,” Dr. Onyiuke added.
