Don’t Let Knee and Hip Pain Slow You Down
Sept. 18 Discovery Series will focus on Joint Preservation and Total Joint Replacement
FARMINGTON, CONN. – A number of new approaches are available to
relieve joint pain and discomfort and allow individuals of all ages
to continue the activities they enjoy.
A free
Discovery Series program will explore these options on Thursday,
Sept. 18, at the University of Connecticut Health Center. The
program begins at 7 p.m. in the Keller Auditorium. To register, call
800-535-6232.
Robert Arciero, M.D., professor and chief of the Sports Medicine
Division at the New England Musculoskeletal Institute, will present
an overview about joint preservation of the knee including osteotomy
to partial knee replacement.
R.
Michael Meneghini, M.D., director of the Center for Joint
Preservation, will discuss early intervention to maintain and
preserve hip function.
Lastly, the director of the New England Musculoskeletal
Institute,
Jay
R. Lieberman, M.D., will explore when individuals should
consider total joint replacement.
