The UConn Health Center is committed to providing a place for individuals to share common concerns, emotional support, as well as to exchange information. The following support groups meet at the Health Center or other locations.

Bladder Cancer Support Group
When: First Saturday of each month; 3 p.m.
Where: Onyiuke Dining Room (Main Floor Near the Food Court), UConn Health Center

Cardiac Support Group
Living with Heart Disease: A free 7-week education-based support group series for patients, family members and caregivers. Topics will include coping with heart disease, exercise, nutrition, medication and meal planning. Registration is required, seating is limited to the first 15 people.
When: Fridays, April 12 to May 24; 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Where: Katz Conference Room (2nd Floor of the Main Hospital), UConn Health Center

Coping with Stress Cancer Support Group
A free education-based support group, offering a mind and body approach for cancer and hematology patients and family members. Topics include medication techniques, breathing and relaxation, food for real comfort, the spiritual side of coping with illness, and the role of inspiration in overcoming fear. Registration is required.
When: Starts June 4, 2013 at 11 a.m.; subsequent sessions are June 11, June 18, June 25 and July 2 at noon.

Depression, Bipolar Support Group
When: Every Wednesday of each month; 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: Room LG066, UConn Health Center. Please use main hospital entrance.

Head and Neck Cancer Support Group
When: There will be no meetings in May. Please check back in June for new dates.
Where: Food Court in the Rear, UConn Health Center

H.E.A.L. – Helping Endure Infant Loss
A resource for parents and families who have suffered the loss of an infant.

Hepatitis C Support Group
When: Second Wednesday of each month; 7 to 9 p.m.

Huntington's Disease Caregiver Support Group
When: Second Tuesday of each month; 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Lupus Support Group
When: Every third Wednesday of each month; 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Near Death and Related Experiences Support Group
For people that have had near death and related experiences. Free and open to the public.

NICU Parent Support Group
When: Monthly; 6 to 7 p.m.
Where: Neonatal Conference Room, Ground Floor, UConn Health Center

RESOLVE Infertility Peer Support Group
RESOLVE is a national non-profit, charitable organization that offers referral, counseling and support groups to people with problems of infertility and education and assistance to associated professionals.
When: Third Thursday of each month, 7 p.m.

Sjögren's Syndrome Support Group
When: Four times a year: March, May, September, November; 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Spasmodic Dysphonia Support Group
When: Two times a year, in the spring and fall.
