Team Award

Objective

The team award recognizes the efforts of a team that furthers the mission of the University of Connecticut Health Center – Remarkable Care through Research and Education.

Eligibility

Teams can consist of work groups, departments, cross-functional work groups, task forces or special project teams.

Criteria/Requirements

The nominated team must meet the following:

  1. The team must demonstrate behaviors that illustrate:

Togetherness
Effort
Attitude (positive)
Motivation

  1. Specific outcomes must benefit the Health Center’s mission, such as, significant increase in customer satisfaction scores measured through Press Ganey, the development of projects or programs that resulted in a positive impact on education, patient care or research.
  2. Two letters of endorsement from individuals who will support the first two criteria.
  3. Approval from a senior administrator.

Process

The award will be presented on a bi-monthly basis. Nomination forms (Word doc) must be submitted to the UConnPride Council, Mail Code 5107, by the first of the month. The submission should include the nomination form; team members with optional outline of their role on the team; description of the project or contribution addressing the two criteria above; and two letters of endorsement.

The integrity of the award will be maintained by the careful application of the criteria. A panel from the UConnPride Council task force, in consultation with two senior managers, will review the nominations and select the team award recipient. Nominations that are not selected for the team award will be rolled over for one additional period, thereafter the team will be acknowledged for their contribution.

Announcement

A presentation will be made to the winners bi-monthly at a UConn awards reception. Award winners will be published in the HR newsletter, Broadcast Messages, Newsline, and posted on the Pride Wall located near the Food Court.

Reward

Each member of the team receives a certificate and PAWS sticker. A Husky Cup trophy will be held by the team for two months and then passed to the next recipients.
