"Every Day" at UConn Health Center
Earlier this summer, I shared my thoughts with you about my
commitment to take the message about the Health Center’s many
strengths, “to the streets” – on the local, regional and
national level. Like you, I am unstoppably proud of what we
achieve here every day.
I’m delighted to let you know that the Health Center is
launching a new advertising campaign specifically about the
great things that happen here every day, thanks to our
world-class faculty and staff, and our state-of-the-art
technologies.
While we understand the need to inform the public about our need
for a new hospital, we also want the public to know that despite
the challenges of our physical space, we offer topflight care to
thousands of individuals and families every day.
The “Every Day” campaign will include ads on several local radio
stations and the Hartford Courant. Based on input from faculty
and clinical leaders, the print ad will feature a photo of one
of our patients. We will send links to the print ad and its
radio version shortly. We will also be speaking directly to the
community about our clinical strengths through “Open Letters” in
local newspapers.
It’s important to note that this campaign will run concurrently
with targeted efforts to promote the New England Musculoskeletal
Institute, the Pat and Jim Cardiology Center, the Carole and Ray
Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Center for Implant and
Reconstructive Dentistry, the Department of Dermatology and
other areas. Efforts to promote the expanded Emergency
Department will launch in early 2010.
Please feel free to contact me or Maureen McGuire in
Communications with your thoughts and suggestions about how we
can continue to take our message to the streets. We look forward
to hearing from you.
