Message to the Health Center Community
To Members of the Health Center Community:
Over the next two months, I will be sending a series of
Broadcast Messages that will describe some of the Health
Center’s long-term and short-term goals and how we plan to reach
them. Each week, individual messages will discuss aspects of our
finances, updates on the partnership and other organizational
partnership discussions, the development of our strategic
planning initiatives, and the many achievements of our faculty,
students and staff.
While I know we all have inboxes that are often too full, I also
believe, as Jefferson stated, that “knowledge is power,
knowledge is safety, and knowledge is happiness.” I
believe this is especially important for these times. I welcome
your feedback and encourage you to communicate with me through
my blog at
http://libraryweb.uchc.edu/vp/.
My central message to you is that we are an important,
extraordinary and vibrant community. How we address challenges
says as much about us as the fact that challenges are overcome.
Over the past months we have made important strides, and I
predict we will be able to look back at this period as one of
transformation. Please know I am also taking the message about
the Health Center “to the streets” locally, regionally and
nationally -- and I ask that all members of the Heath Center
community spread the word about the excellence we pursue (and
attain!) each and every day.
I believe that pride, courage, passion and conviction will
always win out over fear, doubt, and frustration. I invite you
all to be a part of what is in many ways, our moment.
Thanks.
